Back in 2000, the Mondory family (three-generation vine grower, winemaker and distiller in the Petite Champagne appellation in Cognac) decided to make their first Pineau des Charentes. Unfortunately, they never found a buyer and eventually “forgot” the barrel in the cellar. They never made another Pineau…

22 years and a few liters of “Angel Share” later, the liquid inside the barrel evolved into an absolutely gorgeous nectar. Powerful nose and palate combining subtle oak and grape tones, underlined by deep notes of caramel and sweet spices. The warmth from the Cognac is well complimented by a gentle sweetness and syrupy fruit aromas.
