Rustic, golden-hued and jam packed with sunny disposition, Salvatore’s Turi Bianco is crafted entirely of Catarratto sourced from relatively young vines, the bunches undergoing a brief 3-day maceration period before fermentation and subsequent aging in steel tank. Salted lemon, grapefruit pith and ‘Arnold Palmer’ lead the primary aromatics of the Turi, with fleshier elements of yellow nectarine, cantaloupe and Asian pear lying just below the surface. At once textural, salty, and bracingly tart, this is a wine that benefits from a few minutes left to warm up and soften, revealing more depth to the fleshy golden fruit as well as a nutty, salted almond quality. As the label might lead one to assume, this is a wine not to be taken too seriously, enjoyed with an eye toward refreshment and easy living.
