The De Forville's are barbaresco specialists and benchmark producers at their ten hectares domain.  They have been stalwarts of Piedmont since they emigrated from Belgium in 1848.  The settled in the village of Barbaresco in 1860 and are one of the longest growing families, but it was only in 1940 that they began bottling their own wines. In the early 1900's, Paolo Anfosso married into family and now the 5th generation, his uhr-great grandchildren, Valter and Paolo are at the helm.

This Nebbiolo is a special cuvee that originates from vines located in the commune of San Rocco d’Elviom which is perched on a hilltop in between the Barbaresco and Barolo zones.  While it has the graceful and more lithe aromas and body of Barbaresco, its structure more closely resembles that of Barolo, slightly more somber with firmer tannins.  Vibrant and linear, it features classic aromas of rose petals, damp earth and tar with a racy palate of sour cherry, strawberry, orange peel, and forest herbs.  It finishes with brisk acidity.
