Here's a rum made on a small island just west of Okinawa from locally grown sugar cane. The molasses is distilled only once to preserve as many of the flavors as possible. Although this is the molasses based rum in the Cor Cor line, it remarkably retains a fair amount of qualities associated with agricole, chief among them a grassy, olive like aroma. But aside from that, the rum is full of its own unique character with flavors of macadamia, a medley of peppercorns, bitter lime and faint hints of tropical fruit. A wonderfully delicious and completely worthwhile rum exploration!
