Tinto de Rulo is the project of three friends who, by pooling resources, make tiny amounts of wine each year. Located in the South of Chile, in the region of Bio-Bio, Tinto de Rulo is the focused on making artisanal, terroir driven wines. The team works closely with small winegrowers, using only grapes from organic vineyards established at least a century ago. They aim to bring out the character of each place, emphasizing minimal intervention in order to showcase all the vineyard’s characteristics in the bottle.

These Pais grapes come from vineyards in Yumbel planted on granite soils where the vines are at least 70 years old. The vines are pruned in a gobelet trellis system and all vineyard management is organic and only minute amounts of sulphur are used to prevent fungal diseases. Yumbel is located some 500 Km south of the city of Santiago, 300m above sea level, with a temperate climate, a well-defined dry season and a winter with annual rainfall of 800 mm. Everything is hand worked in the field and cellar and the wine is aged in  50% in old Raulí wood (Chilean oak), and 50% in old amphoras (Clay Tanks). 

Lots of red fruits such as Strawberry with some earthy and rustic hints. Juicy red fruits in the glass: red berries and plums, with delicate tannins and refreshing acidity.
