These grapes are sourced from the hillsides of the Hérault (in Montpelier, South of France) overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, from mature vines - some over 50 years old. Half of the wine is put in oak barrels for malolactic fermentation then all wine sees 6 months of oak aging. Intense and full-bodied, this wine produces notes of leather, tobacco, spice, and blackcurrant on the nose and palate. It has complex dark fruit flavors, a subtle earthy tone, and opens up nicely.
