This gorgeous silky Merlot based Bordeaux is a lesser label of Chateau Lafleur and the pedigree shows quite nicely. This wine has almost a decade in the bottle after aging in neutral oak. The end result is muted fruit and secondary notes like leather, tobacco and leaf litter. 

The wine truly shines after being decanted or allowed to breathe with the fruit amping up like an amazing guitar solo in a classic rock tune. Think "Layla's" sweeping bridge. Blackberries, cassis, and gentle loamy notes are the watchwords here.

Still hearty enough to stand up to red and game meats but perhaoos at its best with a savory pasta, poultry or even a grilled Salmon.
